THE 1st DCNHS Interbatch Basketball Tournament kicked off May 19 at the CSI Stadia with Dagupan Mayor-elect Mayor Belen Fernandez as guest of honor and speaker.

A brainchild of DCNHiS alumni president Atty. Liberato ‘Ope’ Reyna Jr., the tournament is being participated in by 22 teams from different batches with games held every Saturday and Sunday afternoons at the Dagupan City Astrodome.

The tournament objective, says Reyna, “is to further strengthen alumni camaraderie by getting them to interact not only at the DCNHS Grand Alumn Homecoming in December but all year round.”

The Dagupan City National High School Alumni Night on December 28 is a featured city fiesta event.

Tournament officers are Arlene S. Salegumba, Overall Event Coordinator, Roberto “Jun” Amado, Commissioner, and Ferdinand “Bong” Amado, Jonathan  Calimlim and Ruby Calma as Committee Members, and Atty. Reyna, organizer/adviser.

City Health Officer, Dr. Leonard Carbonel, with the city health office team, provide emergency medical assistance

Reyna also announced that a Volleyball Tournament, exclusively for the female alumni, may start sometime this August.
