Cicel Reyna, another Pinay in Action

WHO says one cannot be a mother, a medical practitioner and still be a competitive sportswoman?

Dr. Cicel Manaois-Reyna, 36, has proven just that. She is all that.

The diminutive doctor who specializes in rehabilitation and sports medicine and a traditional Chinese medicine acupuncturist at the Luzon Medical Center, is a competitive sportswoman who competes in triathlon events.

DR. REYNAThe daughter of the late Cesar C. Reyna and Marilyn Manaois, was reportedly being groomed earlier to succeed her younger sister, Dada, in the city council in the last elections but she begged off because she has her own priorities. And politics is not one of them, for a good reason.

Cicel already proved her mettle in competitive sports having won creditably in local and national sports events.

She was champion in the recent 21kms Women’s Division of the First Baguio-Benguet Marathon early this month; took second place in Overall Women’s Division of 2013 Pangasinan Pistay Dayat; second place Overall Sprint Division of the Tri-Ilocos Triathlon last March and 5th place in the Century Tuna Asian Duathlon last year.

As many attest, Cicel, one of the pillars of the the Pangasinan Triathlon Team, is in many ways like sportswoman Senator Pia Cayetano who has encouraged women to be competitive and assertive to earn the moniker “Pinay in Action.”

Cicel is definitely one beautiful Pangasinan athlete worth watching out for.
