Batch ’98 takes early lead
1ST DCNHS ALUMNI INTERBATCH BASKETBALL TOURNEY
THE team of Batch’98 blasted its way to a 5-win, no-loss record, posting the most number of victories and now leads the pack in the ongoing Dagupan City National High School (DCNHS) Alumni Inter-batch Basketball Tournament at the Dagupan Astrodome.
The other top teams in the three-category tournament – Batch ‘80s, Batch ‘90s and the Millennium Batch – are Batch ’83, ’86 and ’88; Batch’98, ’94 and ’90; and Batch ’05, ’06, and Batch ’12.
According to tournament coordinator Arlene Salegumba, teams that have yet to notch a win are Batches ’83, ’89, ‘91 and 2009.
The tournament was organized by DCNHS alumni president Atty. Ope Reyna “to strengthen camaraderie among the alumni, most of whom only get to see each other at the Alumni Night on December 28 at the city plaza during the Grand Alumni Homecoming.”
A total of 21 Batch teams have joined the games held every Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
The winners, one each from the three-category Batch ‘80s, Batch ‘90s, and the Millennium Batch will receive the President Ope Reyna Cup.
