3 suspected guns-for-hire arrested

ASINGAN–Three suspected guns-for-hire were arrested by the police shortly after they shot and wounded their intended victim in Barangay Carusocan Norte here at past 3:00 p.m. of June 17.

Members of the Motorized Anti-Street Crime Operatives (MOSCO) of the Asingan Police and the Villasis Police caught the suspects while they were waiting at a public shed in Barangay Carusucan Sur after shooting and wounding the victim, Diomac Ramat, 46.

Ramat was shot while on board his bicycle, sustaining a bullet from a Cal. 45 pistol in the back.

Though wounded, the victim managed to escape from the killers and immediately reported the crime to barangay officials of Carusucan Norte.

The victim was then rushed to the Urdaneta General Hospital.

The suspected guns-for-hire were identified as Edgardo Paguia, 34, and a certain Cadong Balala, both farmers of Sitio Pudiot, Barangay Baloc Santo Domingo, Nueva Ecija; and Lito Martinez, 33, also a farmer, of Barangay Cacapasan, Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija.

All three, who will be slapped with frustrated murder charges, were riding in tandem on a Honda 155 TMX motorcycle driven by Pagula.

Investigation disclosed that the victim Ramat earlier received a threat on his life for his alleged refusal to testify in a shooting incident where the victim was one Mario Ganio, 47, also a farmer and a resident of Barangay Carusucan Norte, Asingan who was shot to death on February 5, 2012 at his residence.

The suspect in that shooting incident, identified as Ambong Rafanan of Carusucan Norte, Asingan, remains at-large and has an Alias Warrant of Arrest against him.
