3 men gunned down in Sto. Tomas
STO. TOMAS—Three men were shot dead by still unidentified gunmen Wednesday afternoon in Barangays Sto. Tomas and Poblacion West here within a span of five minutes.
Senior Inspector Arnold Soriano, officer-in-charge police chief here, identified the victims as Nelson Taginod, 42 and his brother Darwin Taginod, 36, both from Barangay San Marcos and Oliver Marzan, 42, resident of Barangay Sto. Niño.
Soriano said the victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds from a shot gun, M16, 9 mm and caliber .45 based on empty shells recovered by elements of Scene of the Crime Operatives at the crime scene.
Body search on the victims showed Nelson and Oliver had a .45 caliber each in their possession while Darwin had a 9 mm.
Nelson and Oliver were first shot dead in Barangay San Agustin while Darwin was gunned down in Barangay Poblacion West.
Initial police investigation indicates Darwin was allegedly involved in cases of shooting incidents in nearby Rosales town and in other eastern Pangasinan municipalities, but the police are still verifying this through court documents.
Soriano said possible motive of he killing was revenge but they are not discounting other angles.
Sources who declined to be identified said the victims were allegedly close aides of a politician in Rosales town. The gunmen were on board two vans..—Eva Visperas
