PNoy once again endorses De Venecia, Fernandez
PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino III reiterated his endorsement of the candidacies of re-electionist 4th District Rep. Gina de Venecia and Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez who is running for mayor in Dagupan City under the Liberal Party.
In his visit to Lingayen and Urdaneta City last Thursday, the President spelled out the need to elect local officials who can help him push for the development of the countryside to bring about prosperity of towns cities and barangays.
The President expressed confidence that if De Venecia and Fernandez are elected, Dagupan will move at an accelerated pace.
The President said what he wants to work with are local government officials with a heart –those who will give true meaning to development such as De Venecia and Fernandez.
The President added that the members of Team Pinoy, from the senators down to the local candidates like Manay Gina and Fernandez will work in tandem with him in order to address the nagging problem of the nation, particularly in the countryside.
It was the second endorsement made by Aquino for De Venecia and Fernandez.
He first endorsed them last March 8 in a meeting with political leaders at the CSI Stadia after coming from the Region 1 Medical Center where he inaugurated its newly completed surgery department.
Last March 8, the President said, “Buong-buo ang loob ko kay Belen na kapag nahalal siya sa pwesto, aartangkada ang Dagupan.”
He introduced Fernandez in Urdaneta City as “surely the next mayor of Dagupan”, describing her as a workoholic who has served thousands of her constituents in both her public and private capacities.
It is very rare that the highest official of the land endorses candidates but he did this for Manay Gina and Fernandez because he knows their work ethics and their records in public service.
As far as Manay Gina is concerned, Aquino announced that he is releasing P25 million more to complete the slope protection work of the Naguerayan River to secure Sitio Pontok and the entire Barangay Bonuan Boquig from future floods.
This is in addition to the P20 million the President earlier released for the slope protection of the bank of the Naguerayan River close to the Dagupan Seafood Processing Plant.
It is important, according to the President, for the people to put into office the people who are committed to the advocacy of “Tuwid na Daan“.
Also endorsed by Aquino were Alaminos City Mayor Hernani Braganza for governor; Arturo Lomibao for vice governor; Bodie Pulido for congressman in the first district; Kim Lokin, for congresswoman in the second district; Rosemary Baby Arenas, for congresswoman in the third district; Leian Braganza for mayor of Alaminos City; Douglas Soriano, for mayor of San Carlos City; and Edith Hallare, for mayor of Lingayen.
Teamwork is important, according to the President, that is why he is asking the voters to elect those who can help him implement the development agenda for the next three years of his administration.
