De Venecia tells Lim: “You’re so desperate!”
THE Lim family concocted another pack of lies.
This was stressed by Fourth District Rep. Manay Gina de Venecia when a letter was read on the air supposedly from Celia Lim allegedly belying she was bought by De Venecia to back out from the race.
In that letter, Celia Lim flatly denied she was bought by Congresswoman de Venecia to withdraw from the race.
Reacting to this, De Venecia said that in the first place, she never thought of buying her opponent to withdraw as she is leading overwhelmingly over her opponent whose presence have yet to be felt, campaign posters have yet to be seen in the Fourth District of Pangasinan.
She asked why would she still do this when she knows she will win by another landslide as she did when they first squared off in the 2010 election?
Aside from this, a survey by Malacanang itself in Dagupan, San Fabian, Mangaldan, San Jacinto and Manaoag showed De Venecia was leading over the wife of Mayor Benjamin Lim, 95-5.
Branding the ploy as another dirty trick to dissuade the De Venecias in supporting Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez, De Venecia said this is another desperate move of the mayor, coming just three days before the May 13 election.
Since the start of the campaign, no campaign posters of Celia Lim have been seen anywhere in the district which led to suspicions that she may have backed out after the Lim family realized she has no chance against De Venecia.
The supposed letter of Celia Lim was read on radio by one of their drumbeaters in a paid broadcast, insinuating it originated from by the De Venecia camp.
De Venecia said it became obvious that the whole was scripted because it only took two seconds after the letter was read when a certain “Lina Tan” was put on the air to express her anguish over rumors that Celia was “bought” to back out from the race.
To add to the drama, Tan, reportedly the mother of one of Lim’s candidates for councilor, went on to taunt De Venecia for not visiting the charitable institution for girls put up by Congresswoman De Venecia.
Tan went on to say that she will vote for Celia Lim.
De Venecia later clarified that she established The Haven for Women which has 15 regional centers for women, that took care of abused girls since 1992. At least 3,000 women who were victims of physical abuse, rape, incest, at forced prostitution were helped by the center so that they can have a new life.
She, however, apologized that her activities prevented her to attend any of the social activities
In reaction to the statement of the Lims that Celia was paid by De Venecia to quit, De Venecia has words for them: “You’re so desperate!”
