29 re-elected, 19 are newbies, comebacking or re-positioned

VICTORIOUS MAYORS’ CIRCLE

LINGAYEN—Out of the elected mayors in Pangasinan’s 44 towns and 4 cities, 29 are re-elected while 19 others won either as a neophyte, returning to the post, or previously served in another elected position.

Re-elected from their posts were Mayors Jose Pajeta Jr. (Agno), Alberto Guiang (Burgos), Noel Nacar (Dasol), Aldrin Cerdan (Anda) and Carlitos Reyes (Mabini), all from the first district.

Eduardo Ballesteros (Aguilar), Ricardo Camacho (Labrador), Manolito de Leon (Basista), Teodoro Cruz (Mangatarem), Ernesto Balolong Jr. (Urbiztondo) in the second district.

In the 3rd District, all the incumbent mayors won another term of office including Mayors Ricardo Camacho (Bayambang) who was unopposed, Maximo Calimlim Jr (Mapandan), Mark Roy Macanlalay (Calasiao), Julier Resuello (San Carlos City), Armand Domantay (Malasiqui) and Carlito Zaplan (Sta. Barbara).

In the 4th District, only Mayor Robert de Vera of San Jacinto who ran unopposed will have another term.

Mayors Mina Joy Pangasinan (Sison), Ramon Guico III (Binalonan), Amadeo Gregory Perez IV (Urdaneta City) and Silverio Alarcio (Laoac) who were both unopposed, Libradita Abrenica (Villasis) and Artemio Chan (Pozorrubio), all from the 5th District were re-elected.

In the 6th District, the following mayors will return to their posts with a fresh mandate: Heidee Chua (Asingan), Philipp Peralta (Balungao), Rodrigo Rafael (Natividad), Teodoro Ramos (Sta. Maria), Alain Jericho Perez (San Manuel) and Eldred Tumbocon (Umingan) who was unopposed.

NEW AND RETURNING

Former 1st District Rep. Arthur Celeste was elected new mayor of Alaminos City, Councilor Gwen Palafox-Yamamoto is the new mayor of Bani and so with Percival Mallare in Infanta town, Arnold Celeste in Bolinao and Roberto Arcinue in Sual.

Former Mayor Josefina Castañeda will return as mayor of the capital town of Lingayen, former Mayor Simplicio Rosario as the returning mayor of Binmaley, Jumel Anthony Espino who is the son of Gov. Amado Espino Jr. as the new mayor of Bugallon.

The city of Dagupan will be taken over by Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez, Vice Mayor Kim Michael Amador as the new mayor of Manaoag, Councilor Constante Agbayani as the new mayor of San Fabian and Bona Fe de Vera as new mayor of Mangaldan.

Vice Mayor Ryan Paolo Mencias of Alcala won in Alcala, Board Member Amadeo Espino who is the brother of the governor won in Bautista, Vice Mayor Timoteo “Dick” Villar III of Sto. Tomas as new mayor whose entire team was unopposed.

Vicky Saldivar is the new mayor of San Nicolas, former Mayor Clark Tiu will return in his post as the newly-elected mayor, Councilor Susan Casareno will assume the mayoralty position in Rosales, Former Board Member Tyrone Agabas, husband of unopposed sixth district Rep. Marlyn Primicias-Agabas won as mayor in Tayug.

Meanwhile, in the provincial board of Pangasinan, its presiding officer, Vice Gov. Jose Ferdinand Calimlim Jr was re-elected together with Board Members Napoloen Fontelera Jr (1st district), Raul Sison (2nd district), Generoso Tulagan Jr (3rd district), Mojamito Libunao (4th district), Danny Uy and Clemente Arboleda Jr (5th district, both unopposed), Ranjit Ramos Shahani and Alfonso Bince Jr (6th district).

The newly-elected board members who had actually been elected to the same post years ago are Anthony Sison (1st District) and Nestor Reyes (2nd District) and Liberato Villegas (4th District).
