VILLASIS-born marathoner and Philippine national team member Robeno Javier finished third in the South Sumatra ITU Duathlon Premium Asian Cup 2013 elite division won by top Filipino marathoners Carlo Pedregosa held on March 30 in Palembang, Sumatra, Indonesia.

The Pangasinan duathlon and triathlon champion Javier clocked the 10K run-40K bike-5K event in two hours, 11 minutes, 45 seconds for the bronze medal while Malaysia’s Shahrom Abdullah taking the silver.

Pedroza’s time was two hours, 10 minutes, 46 seconds for the gold. Another Pangasinense and also member of the national squad Robinson Esteves of Urdaneta City checked in sixth place in 2:16:24.  A strong field of more than 200 contestants from the host Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Philippines participated.
