Mr. & Ms. SK Pangasinan 2013 contestants meet the press
LINGAYEN—The young men and women vying for the first Mr. & Ms. SK (Sangguniang Kabataan) Pangasinan were presented to the press last April 8 at the Provincial Training and Development Center where they talked about themselves and views for the province.
Members of the media will vote for a “Darling of the Press” among the contestants and the winners will be announced during the pageant night on April 28.
SK Provincial President John Christopher A. Arcinue reiterated that the pageant, which will be part of the Pista’y Dayat roster of activities, will not only showcase the usual “beauty and brains” qualities of the contestants but more significantly the SK’s advocacies.
“This event is not only about the looks and appearances, the questions and answers, or the physique; it’s also about the advocacy of each of the candidates…They will be representing the advocacies of their town project or barangay project in order to inspire the SK official who may not even have started a project or who may lack the inspiration or guide,” said Arcinue.
“This is our way to inspire SK officials to continue pursuing more projects while we’re still all SK officials,” he added.
Those who will compete in the pageant are all 18-20 years old SK officers or members.
