Lokin: Being with administration party is a big plus
LABRADOR—Former Rep. Kim Lokin said being aligned with the administration Liberal Party (LP) gives her better advantage in addressing people’s needs with projects if she wins in her bid for the second district congressional seat.
“Bringing funds for the people when a politician is with the administration party would be easier as it is a political reality,” she added.
“You must be aligned with the administration and you must have the same direction for the Daang Matuwid,” she said, noting that President Benigno Aquino III has three more years in power,” she said.
She said she had met with Budget Secretary Butch Abad, an LP stalwart, who assured her that if she wins, Pangasinan, especially the second district would enjoy more projects from sin taxes.
Lokin said she enjoys campaigning now that people know her better and the electorate are more aware of the issues.
Speaking in Pangasinan language, Lokin, who hails from this town, said she is pushing for her 3K platform of government which stands for: Kabuhayan, the basic service for the people which is lacking now; Kalusugan for health services, which the district is in dire need of; and Kabataan, the future leaders to whom she intends to provide scholarships, particularly the less fortunate but deserving students.
Lokin said her regular medical and dental missions helps address the health needs in the district. She intends to conduct one medical safari per town per month.
She said when she was still congressman under Cibac partylist, she built a community hospital in Labrador town. She intends to replicate this in other towns.
As a congresswoman, she provided scholarships to high school and college students.
Day care centers will also receive her preferential attention by providing them with supplementary reading and writing materials.
