Laoac cyclist wins Vuelta Dagupan

YOUTHFUL cyclist John Mark Bordeos of Laoac conquered the two Baguio mountain stages to win the two-day 2013 edition of Vuelta Dagupan held April 20-21, nipping province mate Ryan Bravo of Bugallon by just two seconds.

Bordeos, 17, of Mossimo team, clocked the 79-kilometer Kennon and Marcos highways in one hour, 17 minutes and 34 seconds. Bonjoe Martin, also of Mossimo, was third at seven seconds off the pace.

In the 26 to 35 age category, Anthony Decena of Aboitiz Power Cycling, Ryan Moyan of Seven-Eleven and Obet Javier also of Aboitiz Power Cycling came in first, second and third, respectively, to top the division participated in by 54 contestants.

Bong Fernandez of Zambales, Ronnie Adlawan of Cebu and Manny Reynante of Metro Manila were the top three finishers in the 46 and up age division participated in by 22 riders.

The women’s division top three winners were Ariana Domitorio, Kaye Lopez and Olive Cortez. —JAGJr.
