Gov’t info officers revive alliance
THE province’s government information officers have revived their group, the Pangasinan Association of Government Information Officers (PAGIO), with a commitment to be more active in pursuing its projects.
After a year of inactivity, PAGIO met last week and elected a new set of officers led by Engr. Bernardo Caronongan of the Department of Public Works and Highways-Lingayen District Office as president.
The other new officers are Danilo Orbos of the Land Transportation Office, vice-president; Irene Martinez of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, secretary; Insp. Michael de Jesus of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, treasurer; Renalie Ferrer of the National Statistics Office, auditor; Carmina Gutierrez of the Department of Education-Pangasinan I, public relations officer; and Annaliza Natavio of the Home Development Mutual Fund or Pag-IBIG, business manager.
Venus May Sarmiento, information center manager of the Philippine Information Agency-Pangasinan, asked the group to work hand in hand with them to realize President Benigno Aquino III’s advocacy to reach out and get feedback from project beneficiaries and the general public.
She volunteered the weekly “Pantongtongan Tayo” radio program of the PIA over DZMQ Radyo ng Bayan and the KBP Forum at the PIA office as outlets for their programs and projects. (PIA-Pangasinan/AMM)
