“YUM, yum, yum!”

Celebrity Chef Boy Logro, known for his ‘Kusina Master’ show aired on national television, delivered his popular expression as he whipped up his own bangus recipe and led the panel of judges in the 101 Ways to Cook Seafood competition in the ongoing Bangus Festival in Dagupan City.

Ten groups of cooks, consisting of institutional representatives and individuals, participated in the cooking competition where they prepared a full menu consisting of soup, appetizer, and main dish.

Logro, a self-made executive chef, commended the skills of the local cooks saying, “Lahat nakaka-inspire, para na silang professional lahat… magagaling sila.

The overall champion was STI College, which also won the special award for best station.

Other winners were: soup category – Pangasinan Merchant Marine Academy (PAMMA), Lutong Tagalog, Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA); appetizer – STI College, PAMMA, YMCA; and main dish-STI College, a lone candidate who is a nurse by profession, and Phinma.

Logro rallied the aspiring chefs to keep their ego in check.

Kahit magaling ka magluto kung may ego ka, hindi ka makakarating (sa gusto mo). Dapat balanced din ang pundasyon ng attitude,” he advised.

The Kusina Master prepared his version of ‘Bangus twist’, which is crispy fried bangus with lemon.

Logro said his two favourite ways to cook bangus are fried and paksiw.

Pag na-marinate na sa lemon, garlic salt at pepper saka ipiprito, napakasarap! Yum, yum yum!” Logro exclaimed.–Johanne R. Macob
