SP cites Urdaneta for Hall of Fame Award
LINGAYEN—Well done!
This was the congratulatory note of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan to Urdaneta City for bagging a Hall of Fame Award for being the cleanest, greenest, and safest city in Region 1 for the years 2010, 2011, and 2012 under the leadership of Mayor Amadeo Gregorio Perez IV.
“There is a need to recognize the united efforts of the leaders and the city people of Urdaneta in the performance of their tasks and functions to promote a clean, green, and safe environment, thus making their City not only beautiful but also sanitary and safe for all, including visitors, tourists, and investors,” reads Resolution No. 1819-2013, which was approved on March 18 by the provincial council.
The annual search for the cleanest, greenest, and safest city in the entire Region is being conducted by the Regional Development Council along with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to recognize the “contributions of a city, thereby selecting an outstanding city for serving as an excellent model in the promotion of a clean, healthy, and safe environment for the constituents of the region.”
The collaboration between leaders and the people has made their territories of jurisdiction “spic and span, as well as green and safe”.
The resolution was authored by SP member Clemente Arboleda Jr.–Johanne R. Macob
