Lim couple open Child Minding Center

By Sunday PunchMarch 30, 2013Inside News, News

DAGUPAN Mayor Benjamin Lim and his wife Celia led the inauguration of the Child Care Minding Center for city government employees, particularly mothers with toddlers.

Inspired by the phrase “It takes a village to raise a child”, Lim put up the center manned by child care professionals led by Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Consultant Teresita Crisologo to allow mothers to focus on work without having to worry about their young children.

For the children, the center, located at the city hall ground floor, will be a venue for intellectual development before they enter formal school.

“This program will help parents find opportunities for their children and better prepare our kids for the rigors of elementary, middle and high school classrooms,” Lim said.

Crisologo, for her part, said “early education and child care providers play a key role in ensuring that your child care programs are of high quality and offer safe, healthy, and nurturing environments for young children.”

City Social Welfare and Development Officer Leila Natividad echoed the statement of Crisologo saying the center would promote efficiency and productivity that would result in good performance among city hall employees.

“While attending to their duties, working mothers are confident that their children are safe and protected from abuse, violence, hazards and exploitation while under the custody and care of the center,” Natividad said. (CIO)
