Roxar Melendez, who was chosen as the league’s most valuable player, topped all scorers with 36 points , including three out of four free throws that mattered most in the overtime play, resulting to a 100-96 score in favor of the Dukes with the time down to 1:08.

Then Palaganas put one of his two free throws to close the game at 101-98.

“It was really a display of force,” LNU Headcoach Angel Gumarang said.

Napakalakas din ng Manantan. Nanalangin din tayo. But I believe it is God’s will for us to win this time,” Gumarang added.

Nevertheless, Gumarang congratulated Manantan Technical School for being a very worthy adversary.

Marami kaming natutunan. Lalo na yong skills ni (Robert) Calendacion. Talagang nahirapan yong mga alaga kong makipagsabayan,” he said.

Calendacion led the Pistons in the scoring department with his team high of 25 points with the support of big man John Iqnabi with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Aside from its lst MUAA title, the LNU Dukes were also the silver medalist in the recent National Private Schools Athletic Association Games.
