Agri-fishery fair features local products
PRODUCTS and projects in Pangasinan assisted by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) were again showcased in the 2013 Regional Agri-Fishery Fair held recently at the CSI Mall in Dagupan City.
Engr. Felipe D. Andrada, provincial director of DOST-Pangasinan, said the fair intended to promote fresh and processed agri-fishery goods in the region, which represent the rich resources, local culture and tradition.
Among those featured from Pangasinan were Bella’s Calasiao Puto; Crafter’s Joy Cornhusk Products; Laguit-Padilla Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Inc; Binmaley Rural Improvement Club and Yadao Food products.
Other micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMES) from around Region 1 were also presented.
The DOST also introduced its flagship program, the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP), which aims to provide technology interventions to MSMEs.
To support agri-business entrepreneurs, a capability enhancement seminar on product development was also held to enhance the packaging and labeling skills of local processors in the domestic market.
