Senior citizens get free reading glasses

ON MANAY GINA’S BIRTHDAY 

AS part of her birthday celebration on February 15, Fourth District Rep. Gina de Venecia will distribute free reading glasses to elderly citizens in her district from Feb. 1 to 15.

Manay Gina will visit all barangays in the district and distribute the reading glasses to show her love and compassion to elderly citizens.

She said she wants to celebrate her birthday by making senior citizens happy by providing them new glasses for better reading of newspapers, magazines and books for their leisure and amusement.

Five hospital vans will be deployed in all the five towns where the elderly that registered with their barangay chairmen and kagawads can claim their respective reading glasses.

Eye doctors will also be on hand to ensure that the proper reading glasses are given.

Manay Gina called on elderly citizens to prepare their senior citizen cards and coordinate with their respective barangay leaders for the scheduled distribution.

SCHEDULE

The distribution kicked off Feb 1 to 5 in the towns of Mangaldan, San Fabian, San Jacinto and Manaoag.

In Dagupan, the distribution of reading glasses will last until February 10.

First recipients of reading glasses last February 1 were residents of Barangay Malued, followed the next day by Lucao, to be followed by residents of Mayombo on Feb. 4 and then Calmay, Carael and Caranglaan on Feb. 5.

Reading glasses will also be distributed February 8 to 10 for residents of Barangay Longos Proper, Longos Central and Longos-Parac-Parac in San Fabian.

The distribution will continue Feb. 10 to 12 in Barangay Nibaliw Center, Nibaliw West, Nibaliw East, Nibaliw Magliba and Nibaliw Narvarte. In the afternoon reading glasses distribution will be in sa Sagud Bahley and Cayanga and in Poblacion, Tempra Guilig and Lekep Butao.

Distribution was held Saturday in Inmalog Sur Gym for residents of Barangay Bigbiga, Gumot, Bolaoen, Inmalog Sur, Inmaog Norte and Lipit Tomeeng.

Similarly on Saturday, distribution was held at Anonang East Elementary School for residents of Ambalangan dalin, Colisao, Binday, Palpad, Aramal, Angio,Anonang at Cabaruan.

Others recipients on Saturday were residents of Barangay Poblacion, Guilig and Guiguilonen, also in Mangaldan.

Residents of Barangay Tebags and Nibaliw Lanas Maasin and Salay also received their eyeglasses.

In San Jacinto, the distribution was held at the San Jacinto Sports Center for residents of Barangay Capaoay, Sto. Tomas, Magsaysay, Sta. Maria, San Guillermo, Guibel, Bagong Pag-Asa, San Vicente at San Jose.

The Manaoag Sports Complex was the venue for residents of Nalsian, Tebuel, Licsi, Poblacion, Pugaro, Calaocan, at Pantal and at Pao Elementary School residents of Pao, Lipit Norte, Lipit Sur and Sapang last Saturday.
