Provincial employees get free health services
LINGAYEN—In line with the celebration of its 2nd Wellness Program Anniversary, the provincial government, through the Provincial Health Office (PHO), provided free health consultation and other services to its employees on last February 8.
Dr. Anna De Guzman of the PHO said the wellness program was developed last year after their office noticed the high number of employee-absences mainly due to health issues.
One of the highlights of the event was the giving of free pneumococcal vaccine that secures those immunized from pneumonia and meningitis.
Last November, PHO also offered free flu vaccine to the employees which reportedly resulted to significantly low number of absences and more productive workers.
“Mas masaya rin sila,” said De Guzman noting that avoiding sickness means not having to spend money on medical bills.
The program also provided health services such as electrocardiograph (ECG), X-ray, blood sugar and cholesterol level examination, as well as bone scanning.
The employees were also given for free one month worth of maintenance drugs.
The Pangasinan Association of USA helped in the medical mission.
