PPH’s dialysis center is 3rd best in PHL
LINGAYEN—The Mayor Julian Resuello (MJVR) Dialysis Training Center at the province-run Pangasinan Provincial Hospital (PPH) in San Carlos City was awarded by the Renal Nurses Association of the Philippines (RENAP) as 3rd Best Dialysis Training Center in the country.
“The recognition given by RENAP President Raquel Z. Tejada on January 9 is a testament to the excellence of the MJVR Dialysis Training Center in the practice of Nephrology Nursing,” PPH Director Dr. Policario Manuel said.
The RENAP, according Manuel, gives nurses the license to work on dialysis after passing a comprehensive examination which is facilitated monthly in the Philippine Heart Center in Manila.
As part of RENAP’s advocacy and the healthcare thrust of the provincial government, Manuel said all PPH doctors, nurses and hospital staff have been committed to give quality healthcare treatment to all patients.
“I know how this hospital was deprived of everything until Governor Amado T. Espino Jr. came and a lot of positive developments happened here,” Manuel said.
The MJVR Dialysis Training Center is headed by Supervisor Peter Cayaban, who trains the nurses in dialysis treatment.
Cayaban previously worked at the Davita Group, a California-based dialysis center in the United States.
The MJVR Dialysis Training Center has so far produced 11 topnotchers and several passers who are now Certified Renal Nurses.
