Pangasinan runners join nationwide PhilHealth-DOH Run
MORE than 90,000 runners nationwide in 18 venues participated in the first “PhilHealth-DOH Run 2013: Nationwide Run for Mother and Child Protection!” last February 17, including those who joined the event in Dagupan City.
The run-for-a-cause was the highlight of PhilHealth’s 18th anniversary celebration with the theme “Synergy for Universal Health Care!”
Dr. Enrique T. Ona, Health Secretary and concurrently PhilHealth Board Chairman-President, this year’s observance focused on the importance of mother and child’s health in support of the country’s commitment to the Millennium Development Goals.
The proceeds from the run will go to the Philippine Children’s Medical Center and Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital in Manila.
