Letter from Sen. Alan Cayetano

By February 3, 2013Governance, News

Dear brothers and sisters in Pangasinan:

I feel vindicated and at the same gratified that my colleagues in the Senate unanimously agreed to have the Senate’s book of accounts audited closely by the Commission of Audit for starters and do away with the practice of liquidating expenses merely by certification without proof of receipts and invoices.

When I stood up to deliver my privilege speech last January 23, I asked my colleagues to join me in making the Senate more transparent and accountable because we demand no less from agencies that we investigate.

I am optimistic that with more agencies being closely watched, graft and corruption that lead to loss of jobs and essential services to our people, will be further minimized under the Aquino administration’s mantra “Tuwid na Daan”.

Please continue to pray that our government will continue to respond to calls for honesty, transparency and accountability.

Salamat po sa inyong mga dasal. Till then…

Sincerely,

Alan
