LAWYER Dean Abraham Espejo is getting busier in Pangasinan with a growing list of high-profile clients, the latest being Dagupan Mayor Benjamin Lim.

Espejo’s name appears in a formal entry of appearance with manifestation filed by his EMZOVBR Law Office before the Office of the Deputy Ombudsman for Luzon dated January 16, 2013 on the charges for Grave Misconduct filed by Leo Angeles against Lim and Dagupan City Administrator Vladimir Mata under case number OMB-L-A-12-0495.

Espejo is also the lawyer of Governor Amado Espino Jr. in the plunder case filed by Bugallon Mayor Rodrigo Orduña and he also represents the 15 incumbent and former barangay chairmen who filed a plunder case against Alaminos Mayor Hernani Braganza.

The case against Lim stems from the use of the calamity fund by the Dagupan City government in 2010 during the onslaught of typhoon “Juan” despite the absence of a declaration of a state of calamity by the Sangguniang Panlungsod.

In his manifestation, Espejo moved for the dismissal of the case.

Lim is also charged in another complaint before the Ombudsman for possible violation of the Anti-Graft and Corruption Practices Act, also filed by Angeles, in connection with the purchase by the city government of 31 hectares of land in Barangay Awai, San Jacinto in 2001 for P16 million.

Lim’s co-respondent in that complaint is one Jose Mariano Cuna, the person who sold the land to Lim.
