Capitol employees enjoy rewards and incentives

LINGAYENMembers and non-members of the Healthy Habit Club (HHC) had a great time with the activities featured during the family day celebration spearheaded by the Provincial Human Resources Management and Development Office (PHRMDO) on February 22 at the Provincial Training and Development Center (PTDC) here.

Gathering almost 1,000 participants from the offices and hospitals of the provincial government, the event, according to PHRMDO Chief Administrative Officer Janet Asis, focused on the giving of rewards and incentives as part of the month-long anniversary celebration of Employee Welfare and Wellness Program.

Asis, hailed as year 2012’s Most Outstanding Human Resource Management Officer in the region, said, “the system of awards and incentives forms part in targeting the 10 development thrusts of Governor Espino.”

“All these services are provided to the HHC members and their families for free under the able leadership of Gov. Espino who envisions Pangasinan as ‘home of healthiest Filipinos’,” Asis said as she noted that the governor since 2007 has transformed the province into its Golden Era today.

President of Pangasinan Medical Society Vivencio Villaflor and Ruperto Cagaoan, President of Non-Governmental Organizations in Pangasinan, who attended the opening program, both lauded the efforts of the provincial government in conducting such an activity for the employees’ health and wellness and pledged support to the endeavours of the provincial government for the employees.

Now on its second year, the Employee Welfare and Wellness Program has reached greater heights as three big events were conducted this February, such as: Work Health Summit along with medical and physical check-up (February 8, Sison Auditorium); Employees’ Awards and Recognition rites which recognized best performing employees, offices and hospitals of the provincial government (February 14, Sison Auditorium; and Family Day celebration (February 21, PTDC).

Participants to the family day celebration have availed free-of-charge services in massage and reflexology, beauty and hair care services, facial care services, backyard gardening, cooking demonstration, stress management seminar after the short opening program.

Meanwhile, six groups (Generals, Warriors, Financiers, Medics 1, Medics 2 and Legislators), captured the attention of spectators as they cooked their best appetite and main dish entries in the cookfest challenge. Consequently, in the afternoon, the aerobics dance competition took place gathering the strong participation of four teams (Financiers, Builders, Generals and Warriors).

Winners in the cookfest challenge received certificates of recognition and the following cash prizes: Main Dish -4,000 (Champion), 3,000 (1st Runner-Up), and 2,000 (2ndRunner-Up); Appetizer – 3,000 (Champion), 2,000 (1st Runner-Up), and 1,000 (2nd Runner-Up) while winning teams in the aerobics dance challenge composed of some 15-20 members bagged home 7,000 (Champion), 5,000 (1stRunner-Up), and 3,000 (2nd Runner-Up).

Sponsors and program partners to the activity Shepherd Corner Training Center (Tonton, Lingayen), Greenmont Systems Int’l Inc. (Dagupan City), Unicare Specialist Int’l Inc. (Dagupan City), Footprints Spa Center, and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority – Pangasinan School of Arts and Trades (PSAT), were also given with certificates of recognition during the closing ceremonies.
