Assistant assessor’s house burglarized
BINMALEY—Five still unidentified robbers carted away half a million worth of cash and jewelry from the house of Loida Alamar, 51, assistant provincial assessor in Barangay Gayaman here in the morning of January 30.
Alamar’s housemaid, Diana Mae Collado, 19, single and resident of Barangay Apartado, Alcala town, was alone in the house when the suspects knocked on the gate and one of them identified herself as Grace Ramos.
Ramos told Collado that she is a close family friend of the Alamars and asked for Mrs. Alamar’s number saying she wants to get in touch to invite her as a wedding sponsor.
She pretended to call Alamar on the phone and the group later asked the maid if they could use the restroom in the house.
While at the rest room inside the master’s bedroom, they forcibly opened cabinets and took cash and jewelries.
The maid said she discovered the robbery after the suspects had already left the house.—Eva Visperas
