MALASIQUI—A tricycle driver from Barangay Palong here was apprehended by the police for carrying an unlicensed Noringco Caliber 45 pistol, with one magazine and six live ammunition.

The suspect, Rogelio de Luna Jr., alias “Oming”, 38, was apprehended by a police mobile patrol at about 11 p.m. of January 2 after they received a tip from a concerned citizen.

The tipster pointed to the patrolling team the suspect with a gun tucked on his waist while the latter was preparing to leave a peryahan on board a black motorcycle without a plate number and.

The suspect sped off on his motorcycle when he sensed the presence of the police but was eventually nabbed.

A case for violation of Republic Act 8294 was filed against the suspect before the office of Provincial l Prosecutor in San Carlos City.
