PhilHealth marks 18th year with nationwide run

THE Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) will celebrate its 18th anniversary with a nationwide run dubbed “PhilHealth Run 2013: Run for Mother and Child Protection” on February 17, to be staged in 18 venues around the country.

Dagupan City will be the venue for Region 1 and the starting line will be at the City Plaza then on to the Judge Jose De Venecia Highway.

PhilHealth Regional Vice President Rodolfo Del Rosario Jr. said he is expecting 5,000 runners from Region I out of the nationwide target of 108,000 participants.

The proceeds of the event will go to the Philippine Children ‘s Medical Center as the national beneficiary and the Kanlungan Center Foundation, Inc. in San Fernando City, La Union as the regional beneficiary.

Registration fees for the event are: P250 for the 3-kilometer run; P300 for 5K; P350 for 10K and; P450 for 18K.

The fees are inclusive of a singlet, race bib, race primer, finisher’s certificate and a stub for the raffle of prizes.

The 18K category registrants will also receive a timing chip and a finishing medal.

Del Rosario said they are glad to celebrate another year of service, especially with at least 85 percent of the entire population already registered with the insurance agency as of 2012. (PIA-Pangasinan/VHS)
