ENTREPRENUER EX-SEN. SHAHANI’S ADVICE

LINGAYEN—Former Senator Leticia Ramos-Shahani, an entrepreneur in her own right, is batting for “classy” packaging for the province’s products to make them more marketable both locally and internationally.

“Pangasinan products lack class,” said Shahani, a Pangasinense and sister of former President Fidel V. Ramos.

She cited her own product, the Shahani carabao milk, as an example of how packaging can be improved for the province’s distinct goods.

“My ‘Shahani Gatas Kalabaw’ (carabao milk) is very nicely-packaged; anyway, it’s world class because I don’t like to be no class,” she told the media after the program for the 68th Lingayen Gulf Landings and Pangasinan Veterans’ Day celebration last January 9, where she was the guest of honor and speaker.

“Pangasinenses can have class,” she said, adding that packaging adds value to the product and will help promote the province.

“The biggest challenge today is how to make Pangasinan really wealthy because it has all the potentials…,” said the former senator.–Johanne R. Macob
