EVEN as the legality of the MC Adore sale has yet to be decided with finality by the court, the administration of Mayor Benjamin Lim is already assuring vendors in the area of a relocation site for their businesses.

City Administrator Vlad Mata announced that on or before February 7, the date for the supposed completion of payment for the acquisition of the controversial property, the city will provide a relocation site for the vendors.

“Even before the process of disposal of the MC Adore property, we have already started with the process of tagging vendors in and around the building. So far, we have identified more than 170 market traders after we have tagged and retagged them,” Mata said.

“Based on the results of the tagging of vendors, the city government has asked the City Planning and Development Office to come up with the design of the physical layout of the possible venue where MC Adore vendors will be transferred in coordination with the city’s market division,” he added.

He said at least two areas have been pinpointed but these plans have yet to be submitted to the office of Mayor Benjamin S. Lim for his approval this week.

“The options are within the vicinity of the market area so that their vending activities and income will not be disrupted,” he said. (with report from CIO)
