UMINGAN–A flash alarm was issued by the police when a 68-year old woman from Barangay Poblacion East here failed to return home after she met supposed members of a “budol-budol” gang who took her money and jewelry last December 11.

The victim, identified as Remegia Cacatian, first went to the public market and after a while came back to her house to get her money of P80,000 and a still undetermined amount of jewelry.

Cacaitan’s son Macam Jerry, 32, reported the matter to the police when his mother failed to return home after handing her money and jewelry to the gang.

Investigation showed the woman fell into the double-your-money scheme of the syndicate and she and an unidentified man later met in front of Martin’s Bakery on Poblacion East.

Witnesses said Cacatian boarded the man’s car, colored yellow bearing plate no. TSN 783, and has not been seen since.
