Security guard yields cache of firearms, ammunition

BAYAMBANG–Elements of the Police Provincial Public Safety Company (PPSC) based in Tayug and the Bayambang Police arrested a security guard in a raid at his house in the early morning of December 19 for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

The raid at the house of Sulpicio Castillo was covered by a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Manuel F. Pastor Jr. of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 50 in Villasis dated December 18, 2012.

Seized from that raid were one 9mm Armscor pistol three magazine assembly for 9 mm, one caliber 22 revolver, four live Ammunition for caliber 22, one caliber 22 magnum revolver marked “North America arms’ without serial number, eight live ammunition for caliber 22 magnum, five pieces of short magazine assembly for M16 and one) long magazine for M16, 89 pieces of live ammunition for M16, 14 live ammunition for caliber 45, and 20 live ammunition for 20- gauge shotgun and one live ammunition for 12- gauge shotgun.

The suspect and the confiscated items were brought to PPSC for investigation and disposition.
