Power plants taxes to fund local projects
LINGAYEN—Revenues collected by the national government from Team Sual Corporation and the San Roque Power Corportation (SRPC) will soon be used for local projects of host Pangasinan.
Resolution No. 1573-2012 was passed last week by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) authorizing Gov. Amado Espino Jr. to enter into an agreement with the Department of Energy (DOE) and the corporations for specific projects.
One project, to be funded with a P16-million income from Sual, will be the upgrading of hospital facilities in the province.
The upgrade will include the construction of an out-patient department building at the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital (PPH); and construction of a supply building, morgue building, elevated water tank, ambulance garage, hospital canteen, security guard outpost at the Dasol and Urdaneta District Hospitals.
With SRPC, a reforestation project worth P2.5 million will be undertaken and a Provincial Employment and Skills Development Center worth P2.515 million will be built.–Johanne R. Macob
