THREE cities in Pangasinan have pledged assistance to victims of Super Typhoon Pablo, which hit several provinces in Mindanao first week of December.

In Dagupan City, local government employees were asked to donate used clothing and other materials, according to Information Officer Anna Velasco.

San Carlos City has likewise pledged support.

Urdaneta City, meanwhile, taking the cue from the national and provincial governments, has cancelled its Christmas party and is instead donating the P100,000 budget for the celebration to the victims through broadcast network ABS-CBN’s Sagip-Kapamilya drive.

The provincial government earlier called off the annual Christmas Dinner and Fellowship for local government officials as well as the Employee’s Christmas Party on December 17 and 20, respectively to donate the funds earmarked for the events.  (See related story in Capitol News)

Dr. George Calugay, team leader of the Department of Health-Center for Health Development, said each employee was asked to donate P300, P500 or P1,000, depending on the individual salary range. (with report from PIA-Pangasinan)
