NGCP lights up San Manuel

SAN MANUEL—A one-kilometer stretch of street here will soon have lights, to be funded by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), a power transmission provider and system operator.

The local government, represented by Mayor Alain Jerico S. Perez, signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with NGCP, represented by Chief Administrative Officer Anthony L. Almeda, last week for the project, which will be installed from the Nagsaag Extra High Voltage (EHV) substation of NGCP down to Asuncion street in Barangay Poblacion.

That dark stretch of the road has long been suspected to be a venue for illegal activities, especially in the late evening.

NGCP said the project, which is under the company’s corporate social responsibility program, is expected to be finished by January.
