Market guard shot dead in Pozorrubio

POZORRUBIO—A market guard and formerly a barangay chairman was shot dead along Rizal Street here at about 3:00 a.m. of December 26.

Senior Inspector Satur Ediong, town police chief, identified the victim as Teofilo Tempra, 56, of Barangay Laoac, Pozorrubio who was shot by a lone unidentified assailant.

Tempra, who, at that time was having coffee at Verenia’s Sari-Sari Store, sustained three gunshot wounds in the back and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Pozorrubio Municipal Hospital.

The suspect fled immediately through Burgos Street, Poblacion, District II where he boarded a Honda wave motorcycle without a plate number, colored red with white combination,

The police have launched a manhunt operation on the suspect.

Witnesses described the suspect to be about 5’4” to 5’5” in height, with a beard and, wearing a blue-colored jacket.
