Cardinoza bags Bright Leaf award
PANGASINAN journalist Gabriel Cardinoza was named one of this year’s Bright Leaf Agriculture Journalism awardees for his article on fish cages and the aquaculture industry.
Cardinoza, the Philippine Daily Inquirer correspondent and Aksyon Radyo-Pangasinan station manager, was awarded for his story “Weather-proof Fish Cage Seen as Savior of Aquaculture Industry” published last year in the PDI.
“It was something I did not expect because the article was just another success story. But I realized that it also reflected the efforts of our government agencies to find ways to prevent man-made disasters, such as fish kills, and protect the environment in the process,” Cardinoza said.
The Bright Leaf Agriculture Journalism Awards, now on its sixth year, has been honoring outstanding journalists and photographers all over the country for reportage on the agriculture and tobacco industries in different media platforms. (PIA-Pangasinan)
