NURSES assigned in the barangays in Dagupan underwent training conducted by the city government for medical intervention to persons with life-threatening conditions.

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) and the Provincial Health Office led the training on General First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) held November 28-30.

CDRRMC Executive Director Vladimir T. Mata said, the training is part of the city’s efforts to empower response teams and the community in providing primary medical intervention to persons with life-threatening injuries during emergencies.

Arlene Agpoon of CDRRMO-Technical Working Group, said the initial phase of the project requires teachers, barangay nurses and response teams composed of Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR) and Water Search and Rescue groups to undergo a BLS training,

After the BLS training, the city will request for a Training of Trainors from the Department of Health. (CIO)
