Auction for MCAdore postponed
LEFT with no choice, Mayor Benjamin S. Lim has deferred the opening of the bids for the sale of the MCAdore International Palace last Monday following the temporary restraining order issued by the court the previous week.
“Let us respect the order of the Court,” Lim told the members of the property’s Committee on Awards and four interested bidders in a meeting last December 17 at the City Mayor’s Office conference room.
The TRO issued by Acting Presiding Judge Emma M. Torio of Dagupan City RTC Branch 40, received by Lim on December 14, will be in effect for 20 days.
Lim said in a statement that despite the TRO, he is confident that everything will be resolved.
City Administrator Vladimir Mata added, “We believe that we have complied with all the legal requirements set by the Commission on Audit (COA) which include all bidding requirements, publication of call for bids in two national dailies and several local newspapers and submission of pertinent documents to COA.”
