LINGAYEN–Both Bolinao Mayor Alfonso F. Celeste and Anda Mayor Aldrin Cerdan commended the leadership of Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. whom they dubbed as “champion of the sick and poor Pangasinense” and “Steward of youth” for initiating two important projects focused on health and tourism.

This developed as Espino and Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim, Jr. personally delivered the provincial government’s ‘double treat’ to the towns of Bolinao and Anda last November 14.

The double-treat, the awarding of tourism and information kiosk and distribution of PhilHealth cards, was described by the governor as the present administration’s special gift to the youth, the sick and the poor Pangasinenses.

Celeste thanked the present administration and noted the various forms of support that the governor continuously extends to their town.

Meanwhile, Espino said the people are the top priority of the present administration.

“We want the youth to become aware of our glorious past as Pangasinense. And, we want to ease the burden of every sick and poor Pangasinense by providing them easier access to health services,” Gov. Espino noted.

Espino expressed elation that students can now sing by heart the Pangasinan Hymn (Luyag ko tan Yaman) during the regular flag-raising ceremony in their respective school.

Sana ay pag-aralan natin ito ng taos-puso gayundin ang ating Pangasinense dialect,” he said, noting that even Ilocano speaking Pangasinense must learn the dialect being the official vernacular of the province.

The awarding of tourism and information kiosk to all local government units in Pangasinan, which kicked off last month, is part of the innovative approach of the Espino administration towards improved tourism and cultural awakening.

The kiosk, which is composed of a 42-inch LCD television and a complete set of computer, will be strategically placed either in the tourism office or at the municipal hall lobby.

“You can create your own video to feature your barangay so that when visitors come you can easily show them the best things about your community,” Gov. Espino said.

A total of 743 health insurance cards were awarded in Bolinao while some 390 indigent heads of family in Anda benefitted from the project.

Celeste hailed the present administration for all worthy programs and projects that they have launched since 2007.

Cerdan, for his part, thanked the governor and the vice governor for extending full support to his town, specifically on infrastructure.

Nagpapasalamat po kami sa pagmamahal at suporta ninyo Apo Gobernador. Dahil sa inyo malaki ang pagbabago ng ating probinsya at kinikilala na tayo sa ibang lugar as one of the best provinces in the country,” Cerdan noted. (PIO/Ruby R. Bernardino)
