Dagupan pursues agri product expansion
THE bangus capital of the world may soon be known for other high quality agricultural products.
To this end, the City Agriculture Office (CAO) headed by Agriculturist Emma Molina has initiated the formation of the Dagupan City Federated Farmers’ Association (DCCFFA) last Thursday to help them gain better access to subsidy programs.
“The formation of the farmers’ association will help every farmer in the city to avail subsidy programs from the Department of Agriculture (DA), like tarapals, irrigation equipment and drums among others,” said Agricultural technologist Milagros Caoile said.
Caoile added, “upon completion of their registration at the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), DCFFA will now have the right to apply for these subsidies in our office.”
The CAO will be promoting the DCFFA’s vision and mission in various barangays in the city to encourage other farmers to join.
The elected officers of the DCFFA are Sergio Edadez from Mangin as president; Apolinario Manandeg, Lucao, vice president; Wilfredo Martinez, Lucao, secretary; Jaime Zarate, Tebeng, sub-secretary; Teofilo Daroya, Mangin, treasurer; Alfredo Palaganas, Tebeng, auditor; Ponciano Ventura, Salisay and Raul Dioquino, Mangin, press relation officers and Meliton Africa, Malued, business manager.
