3 BoC execs lead DDB awardees
THE Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), in celebration of its 40th anniversary, recently honored persons led by three Bureau of Customs officials, who contributed to its successful efforts in the campaign against the illegal drug trade.
Secretary Antonio Villar, DDB chairman, said the award for the three was for the successful interception of 8.7 kilos of cocaine with estimated market value of P50-million from an Indonesian passenger who arrived from Dubai last September 29.
The honorees were led by Custom Examiner Frieda Corazon Sarte – Malvar, Supervisor Beth Pableo and Duty Collector Guillermo Francia IV.
Other awardees were Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos Recto, Lanao del Norte Gov. Mohamad Khalid Q. Dimaporo, Markina City Vice Mayor Jose Fabian I. Cadiz, Sorsogon City Mayor Leovic R. Dioneda, Lipa City Mayor Meynard A. Sabili;
Dr. Ernesto Palanca of Negros Occidental Drug Rehab Foundation, Inc., Dr. Gertrudes D. Dajay for the implementation of the DDB’s program, “Training of Trainors on Life Skills Enhancement” in Region XII; Prosecutor Lilia Doris Alejo, Zenaida N. Elepano and Mario V. Lopez for the education for judges, Prosecutors and Law Enforcers and Arnoel Santos for preventive drug education programs in Marikina City;
Sr. Supt. Rosauro Acio, SPO3 Evarose B. Catalan, SPO1s Jose Abad Santos and Girlie Gay S. Sanado, PO2s Ronelda C. Jaime, Abuhari R. Pangolima, Leonida R. Domantay, Supt Rolly S. Octavio, retired Sr Insp. Alfredo M. Aninipot and retired Sr. Supt. Rolando S. Abutay as trainors in the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) Program; Drs. Jasmine T. Peralta and Criselda Abesamis for rehabilitation programs and Eastern Police District Anti- Drug Unit for successful operations in San Juan.
