TeaM Energy holds ‘Skills Olympics’
SUAL –TeaM Energy, the corporation that operates and maintains the Sual Coal-Fired Power Plant conducted a Skills Improvement in Control Analysis Tournament (SICAT) Olympics last October 9 to enhance its manpower’s capability in ensuring reliable energy supply to the nation.
The SICAT Olympics, patterned after the Tokyo Electric Power Corporation’s skills competition in Tokyo, Japan, demonstrated how each team takes appropriate actions and decisions in handling unforeseen plant malfunctions while maintaining safe and reliable operations of the power station.
Federico Puno, president and chief executive officer of TeaM Energy, said running a vital facility requires constant skills assessment among its employees to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operations.
TeaM Energy, a partnership between Tokyo Electric and Marubeni, is one of the largest private producers of electricity in the Philippines operating the 1,218 megawatt Sual Power Station and the 735 MW Pagbilao Power Station in Quezon.- PIA-Pangasinan-VHS
