THE 6th Sari-Sari Store Fair is set at the CSI Stadia in Dagupan on October 18 to 21 with the aim of stimulating the growth of sari-sari stores in the countryside, the people’s nearest and most convenient source of consumer goods.

Guest speaker during the opening program on Oct. 18 will be Benigno Bam Aquino, the president’s first cousin and one of the 12 senatorial candidates of the Liberal Party.

Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez, chief operating officer and president of the CSI Group of Companies which has been organizing the activity for the last six years, said the four-day fair will highlight the big contributions of the sari-sari stores to the people in the grassroots and their communities.

At least 90 major suppliers of consumer goods will have booths where they will be selling their the products at special discounts to both sari-sari store owners and the public.

Part of the four-day fair is a seminar for sari-sari storeowners to be conducted by financial experts on how to make their stores more viable, getting a higher profit margin, and sustaining their business operations.

The sari-sari storeowners will also be taught simple accounting and bookkeeping procedures for running their business.

Joining CSI as its partners in hosting the fair are the regional and provincial offices of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
