POSO warns public vs. snatchers, ‘kuldit’ operators
PUBLIC Order and Safety Office (POSO) Chief Robert Erfe Mejia warned the public against snatchers and hold-uppers on board motorcycles riding in tandem on preying on people walking along roads in the commercial districts in Dagupan.
Erfe-Mejia issued the advice after noting that three persons have been victimized since September this year.
“The latest victims lost to the motorbike-riding thieves costly pieces of jewelry like necklace, watch, rings, cash and others,” Erfe-Mejia said.
POSO, is now coordinating with Dagupan Police Chief Romeo Caramat for the deployment of police and POSO personnel along the city’s major roads to protect citizens.
“KULDIT”
Meanwhile, Erfe-Mejia also warned the public, especially parents, against the operation of a ‘kuldit, game of chance being maintained near public and private schools, luring elementary and high school students.
Erfe-Mejia said no bettor can win in the game because the paper stubs do not contain any number, adding that the modus operandi is tantamount to swindling.
Two kuldit operators were arrested last Thursday near the Malued Elementary School and West Central Elementary School.
Two of the kuldit victims told investigators they lost their transport allowance in playing the game. (CIO)
