NGO leader escapes slay try
POZORRUBIO- The head of a non-government organization (NGO) based here dodged bullets fired at her by a still unidentified suspect in front of her house in Barangay Batakil at around 5:45 p.m. of October 10
Jane Sobredo, 47, married, housewife, and president of the Saranay Association, an NGO in Barangay Batakil here, told the police she was watering plants in front of their house when a gunman on board a motorcycle stopped and fired at her.
Sobredo was able to duck and avoided all the bullets.
Senior Inspector Satur Ediong, chief of police of Pozorrubio, said investigation show the gunman used a Caliber 45 pistol as evidenced by four empty shells recovered from the scene.
The suspect fled after the incident on board a black Honda wave motorcycle without plate number towards the north direction.
