Espino vows to continue improving lives of Pangasinenses
LINGAYEN–“Politics has just begun and a lot of talks will soon crop up but the truth lies in this administration’s objective to continue a leadership designed to improve the lives of every Pangasinense.”
This was reiterated by Provincial Administrator Rafael F. Baraan as he spoke on behalf of Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. in the regular flag raising ceremony held October 8 at the Capitol grounds here.
Baraan stressed that the Espino administration has focused its efforts over the past years to realize its vision to make Pangasinan the best place to invest, work, live, and raise a family, and fulfill its mission to make Pangasinan No. 1 in the coming years.
Contrary to claims that the province needs to be “pro-Pangasinan”, Baraan said that over the past five years the governor has charted a brighter and promising path for all Pangasinenses as proven by the work load, accomplishments, citations and awards that kept on coming.
Baraan disclosed that if there is one leader who instituted a “pro-Pangasinan” vision, it is no other than Gov. Espino himself as evidenced by the numerous accomplishments that his administration has achieved over the past five years.
The province is again included in two important searches, namely: Search for the country’s Most Business Friendly LGU and the Gawad Pamana ng Lahi Award, Baraan said
“We are included as one of the six provinces in the country vying for the 2012 Most Business-Friendly LGU Awards Level 1 Category,” the provincial administrator said as he mentioned the other five provinces to include South Cotabato, Tarlac, Ilocos Norte and La Union.
He lauded the performance of all provincial employees for their “unwavering support and excellent performance rendered over the past years in response to the call of genuine public service.”
“The final field of validation for the Gawad Pamana ng Lahi Award conducted by the Department of Interior and the Local Government (DILG) was held last week and Pangasinan is one of the ten provinces nationwide vying for the much-coveted award,” the provincial administrator said as he noted that the province’s inclusion is already an accomplishment but bagging the award is an achievement and pride not only for the leaders but more importantly for all the 2.7 million provincial populace.
It will be recalled that the province bagged numerous awards such as Hall of Fame Awardee in National Coastal Resources Management Program Implementation, Hall of Fame Awardee in National Statistics Month Celebration, Best Province in Millennium Development Goal Project Implementation, Best Province in Poverty Reduction Program Implementation, Best LGU Practices on Hospital Management, Best Practices in River Resources Management and other citations to include the recent Seal of Good Housekeeping from the DILG.
From being a non-entity, Pangasinan now placed 4th as the Best Performing LGU in the entire country. (PIO)
