Dagupan City Fiesta 2012 Committee convenes

DAGUPAN Councilor Red Erfe-Mejia, this year’s City Fiesta Hermano Mayor, met with members of the working committee and chairpersons of various events last October 23 to plan for the annual event.

According to Mejia, the city fiesta, celebrated annually in reverence and thanksgiving to the city’s patron St. John the Evangelist, is set to kick off this year on December 15 and will end on December 30.

Anchored on the proposed theme Inspired by the People, this year’s celebration will showcase colorful festivities including homecoming reunions, Christmas parties of various organizations a painting exhibit, and a grand motorcade around the city’s central business district, among others.

The planned activities will be submitted to Mayor Benjamin Lim when he arrives from an overseas trip.

Apart from Mejia, other city councilors present in the meeting were Councilors Marc Brian C. Lim, Alvin Coquia, Guillermo Vallejos and representatives of civic organizations, non-government organizations and other members of the working committee. (CIO)
