Boy Scouts hold 4th Kab Sayawan and Olympics

AS the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) celebrates its 76th year anniversary, about 3,000 boy scouts with their parents and advisers assembled at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) last October 19 for the 4th BSP Pangasinan San Carlos City Council Kid/Kab Sayawan and Olympics.

“Tuloy tuloy ang mga programa para sa mga boys at girls scouts sa Pangasinan para maipadama sa kanila ang pagiging scout,” said Governor Amado Espino Jr. as he thanked the parents for their support.

The governor, noting that he himself was once a boy scout, said, “Isa ang BSP sa mga pinakamagandang organisasyon na sinalihan ko.”

Imelda S. Samson, BSP Regional Scout Director, led the opening of the Kab Sayawan and Olympics participated in by the 10 districts, namely: Lingayen I, Lingayen II, Binmaley, Labrador, Bugallon I, Bugallon II, Urbiztondo, Mangatarem I, Mangatarem II and Basista.

October is declared scouting month under Presidential Proclamation No. 1326.

This year’s scouting month celebrates the theme “Be Prepared: Leadership for Life”.–Johanne R. Macob
