ILLEGAL DRUG TRADE

FIVE barangays in Dagupan have been tagged by the local police as its “areas of immediate concern” against illegal drugs.

Superintendent Romeo Caramat Jr., chief of police of Dagupan City, said the barangays of Pantal, Bonuan Binloc, Bonuan Gueset, Barangay II, and Barangay III are now under tight watch for drug trading activities.

The 77 persons previously arrested by the local police for illegal drugs, including pushers and users, came from these areas.

Caramat said the police are continuously monitoring the activities of suspected drug pushers.

Barangay Bonuan Binloc was earlier tagged in a report as the “drug hub” of Dagupan, where most of the illegal drugs filtering to different villages and other provinces are coming from.

The whole of Dagupan was earlier tagged by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) as the transshipment point of illegal drugs coming from Metro Manila, Bulacan and Cavite then distributed within Pangasinan and neighboring provinces.
